The stress and lack of professional boundaries are the absolute worst part of this job. The owner piles responsibilities on managers and expects them to “just make it work” even though we are already working 50+ hours a week with no lunch breaks and juggling so many other things on top of running camp. I was contacted about work when I was on vacations and expected to respond basically immediately. For the pay they are offering(and the minimal or non existent raises they give out) it is absolutely not worth it. The minimum hours we were expected to work each week was AT LEAST 42 hours. My main issue is that there is zero work life balance and the owners expect salaried employees to be available basically 24/7. The employees weren’t bad but there is A LOT of turnover at the camp counselor level. ![]() I worked in management for close to two years and loved the customers and the dogs so much.
